So… if you haven’t had the chance to come see us at The Boutique – here’s what you missed, complete with photos!

Thomas from Knitting Fever came to see us with his new fall yarns. Congratulations are in order to he and his wife following the birth of their beautiful new daughter Savannah. She’s only a week old!
Bonita got a tattoo – one that doesn’t come off! Guess what it says?? Knit/Purl of course!
And if that’s not cool enough – we had a biker knitter this week! She was so the ULTIMATE cool buying Juniper Moon and Malabrigo.
Speaking of Malabrigo – a big shipment arrived – yippppeeee!!! (There’s still a little left!)
The Light and Lacy knitters and crocheters continue to forge ahead on their pineapples – keep going guys! Almost there!
Falling Leaves tankers are done with the front and moving on to the back.
AND THE WINNER IS….. Marie Joyce is the Boutique Grand Prize Winner of the Metro Yarn Crawl. She took home her two skeins of Findley Dapple and four skeins of Sabine last night with one big smile!

Great Things in Store for the Month of May – Join us for Thomas of Knitting Fever and Famous Knitter Candace Eisner Strick

Our 1st Friday in May event will actually be the 1st Thursday in May. Join us on Thursday evening May 3rd for Thomas of Knitting Fever. Thomas plans to show and tell his NEW Fall yarns! Thursday, May 3 at 6 pm is the date and time. Also, we’re down to two Famous Knitters in our Famous Knitter’s series. Make sure you sign up for classes with Candace Eisner Strick. Candace will join us the week-end of May 11th and will be teaching: Casting Shadows (Shadow Knitting), The Art of Knitting Backwards (so you never have to Purl), Strick-ly Shawls and Strick-ly Socks using her own unique and fast method. Susie Gibbs Visits The Knitting Boutique

Susie Gibbs joined us this week-end and showed students her trunk show of garments made using Juniper Moon Farm yarns. Instructor Bonita also taught students how to make the Amari Shawl and the One Row Lace scarf. Susie plans to joins us again in a couple of months with her new Fall yarns. Be on the lookout!

Susie Gibbs visits The Knitting Boutique on Saturday, April 21 – Club Card Members are Asked to Make a Donation to “Head Huggers”

Join us this Saturday, April 21 for morning and afternoon classes with Susie Gibbs of Juniper Moon Farm. We’ll begin the day with the Amari Shawl class using Susie’s beautiful Sabine yarn. In the afternoon class, we’ll make the One Row Lace scarf using Susie’s new Findley Dappled yarn. Club Card member registration is $10, plus a knitted or crocheted cap that will be donated to “Head Huggers,” an organization who donates chemo caps to women who’ve suffered hair loss due to chemotherapy. Famous Knitter Series Continues on Fair Isle Saturday with Kellie Nuss

Join us on Saturday, April 14 beginning at 9:00 am as we start our Fair Isle Saturday with Kellie Nuss. The fun begins on Friday evening with a meet and greet. Talk to Kellie for a one-on-one preview of her Saturday classes.

Fair Isle – This adventure in stranded knitting using Fair Isle conventions will begin with a morning’s worth of basics-to-intermediate techniques starting with handling 2 yarns, cast-ons and bind-offs and how to read a chart. We will begin a pair of wrist-warmers that will allow practice of all techniques.

Fair Isle Intensive – An afternoon intermediate-to-advanced session all about designing with color and discussing the finishing of Fair Isle knits. Students will choose traditional Shetland yarns from Kellie’s stash and sample in order to understand the wonder of traditional Fair Isle colorwork and design their own project. Students will receive a pattern for a cowl and have the opportunity to start on it, with all techniques for making it discussed in class. Kellie will also demonstrate the working and finishing of a steek.

Sunday, March 25 - Our Spring Schedule will open for registration on Sunday, March 25. Plenty of courses for you to choose from at all levels.

Friday, April 6 - “Bring in your Best Chocolate” night on Friday, April 6. Instead of a 1st Friday Yarn Rep night, we’ve decided to have a chocolate night instead.

Friday, April 14 - Join us for our continued Famous Knitter Series. Kellie Nuss will teach two Fair Isle Intensive courses.

Friday, April 14 – Sun., April 22 - The Knitting Boutique is part of this year’s Metro Yarn Crawl (MYC). Visit our shop from April 14–22 for nine days of fabulous discounts, events, and fun! Purchase a MYC tote for $10 from our store to enjoy 20% off full-priced yarn, fibre, books, and patterns!

“This was a fabulous class. It did exactly what I wanted. My confidence increased tremendously” and “Fabulous class, thanks so much! I feel confident that I could seam a sweater” were two of several great comments following Shirley Paden’s visit to the Boutique this week-end. Shirley taught Cast-ons, Finishings and Knitwear Design and students worked hard to take advantage of the tremendous knowledge that Shirley shared. Our next Famous Knitter is Kellie Nuss. Kellie will teach on Saturday, April 14 two Fair Isle Intensive classes. Make sure you sign up before classes fill up!
